David Takes a Second Chance on Goodwill

Faye and Donald were exploring opportunities for a day support program for their adult son, David. When the initially toured Goodwill, they did not feel the Community Access Program was the best fit for David and decided to enroll him in another program.

Unfortunately, David did not adjust well to that first program. He was unhappy and his parents knew they needed to find another option for him – one that would be better suited to their son. That’s when they decided to give Goodwill another chance.

David began participating in the Community Access Program which serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and it ended up being a perfect fit!

All the activities and field trips that are integral to Goodwill's program are a great fit for David who loves sports. David is much happier now and is surrounded by a group of people who want to make each day a meaningful day for him and his fellow participants.

Goodwill is all about second chances and we are very glad that David and his parents gave us a second chance to make a difference in David’s life.

“David is very excited about coming to Goodwill every day.”
