Goodwill Columbus’ Art Studio and Gallery: The Power of Freedom of Creativity

The power of freedom of creativity is remarkable when someone is offered a place for unlimited self-expression and personal growth. The Goodwill Art Studio and Gallery, which operates out of Goodwill Columbus, is an innovative find arts program for people with developmental disabilities and other barriers. Within this diverse studio environment people are offered a large range of media and methods such as drawing, painting, sculptures and more. It’s a space that provides creative independence, and gives the opportunity to build self-esteem and a sense of personal accomplishment for the artists who create there.

In this rewarding environment there is no “wrong way” to do it; creating art is empowering for people with disabilities who are often both isolated from the larger community yet cannot maintain independence. Through the sale of their art, participants interact with the community in a new relationship; one based on the individual’s gifts and talents rather than the need for support. The program participant’s artwork is exhibited in the Goodwill Art Gallery and exhibitions throughout Columbus Ohio, as well as being sold here on ShopGoodwill.com.

All revenue from these auction sales fund Goodwill’s life-changing programs and services for people with disabilities and other barriers. When you shop on ShopGoodwill.com you’re shopping with purpose.
