The Future of Non-Profit Looks Like This: ShopGoodwill.com Collaborates with Microsoft on New AI Tool

ShopGoodwill.com’s COO George Burt and VP of Online Operations Ryan Smith attended The Global Nonprofit Leaders Summit, a Microsoft-organized event that aimed to explore the intersection of technology and social impact within the nonprofit sector.

Ryan joined the "The Future Nonprofit Looks Like This" panel alongside distinguished figures from Microsoft and the Special Olympics. The dialogue centered on our pioneering journey into AI, facilitated by our partnership with Microsoft’s Tech for Social Impact team. “This has been a truly inspiring week fueled by the Microsoft Global Nonprofit Leaders Summit hosted by Microsoft for Nonprofits. I was floored by the amazing voices we heard from. I left knowing that our respective missions have the opportunity to use AI for acting as a force multiplier for our precious resources,” says Ryan Smith. A highlight of the discussion was the unveiling of our AI-powered listing tool, a groundbreaking innovation developed collaboratively with Microsoft.

This tool represents a significant leap forward for ShopGoodwill.com, promising to revolutionize our listing process by enhancing efficiency and accuracy. “The focus on leveraging technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to amplify our missions was both enlightening and empowering. From discussions on transforming operations to amplifying impact, it was clear that the potential for AI in the nonprofit sector is boundless,” says George Burt. This not only accelerates our ability to bring products to market but also supports job creation by allowing our team to focus on higher-value tasks. We are excited about the potential of our AI tool to not only improve our operational capabilities but also to contribute to job growth within our organization.

“To my fellow leaders and changemakers, let’s take the insights and inspiration from this summit to drive our missions forward with even greater impact. The future is bright, and together, we can harness technology to make an even bigger difference in the world.” -George Burt
